Test Preparation Classes
The Skills Academy Tian-mu has all the resources you need to you get through your next big test. Our educators have been there—they know what it takes to get into college and they know how to help you succeed. We’ll tell you what to expect, how to prepare, and train you through sample tests until your scores are where you want them to be.

Whether it’s proving your knowledge of the English language through the TOEFL test, taking placement test for college admissions such as SAT, or earning the equivalent of a United States High School Diploma with the GED test, we’re here to help.

Which Test is Right for You?

English Proficiency Tests
Whether you are looking to demonstrate proficiency to a potential employer or to a school, there are several widely recognized tests and examinations you can choose from. Each has unique benefits, so do your research to determine which one best suits your needs.

IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English language proficiency test that measures the listening, reading, writing and speaking skills of people who are interested in studying or working in environments where English is the language used. IELTS is accepted by more than 9,000 organizations in over 140 countries, including 3,000 institutions in the United States, and recognizes American, Australian, and British varieties of English. Last year, more than 2.9 million tests were taken around the world.

TOEFL
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) evaluates your ability to listen, read, speak and write English at the university level. Accepted by over 10,000 colleges and universities in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, over 30 million people have sat for the TOEFL test in over 130 countries. TOEIC
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) measures English proficiency, specifically as it is used in real-life situations in the workplace. This exam evaluates your ability to listen, read, speak and write English. The TOEIC is used by employers to hire, place and promote employees.

Undergraduate College Admission Tests
Most U.S. Colleges and Universities require either the SAT or ACT test as a requirement for consideration as an undergraduate applicant. Each requires careful preparation, so review the basics for each and learn how to walk into the examination with confidence.

SAT
The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a globally recognized exam used for college admissions – your exam scores are used as a predictor of your success in college. This exam is typically taken in your junior or senior year of high school and will test your abilities in reading, writing and math.

If you know which field you would like to study and want to stand out, you can also take the SAT Subject Tests (formally SAT 2).

Subject Tests Include:

-SAT Math Level 1
Covers concepts in Algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry, Algebraic functions, elementary statistics, logic, elementary number theory, and arithmetic and geometric sequences.
-SAT Math Level 2
Covers concepts in Algebra, three-dimensional and coordinate geometry, Trigonometry, functions, probability, permutations, combinations, logic, proofs, elementary number theory, sequences, and limits.
-Foreign Languages
French, German, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, Latin, Chinese, Japanese, Korean.
-Foreign Languages with Listening
French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

ACT
The American College Test (ACT) is a national standardized test used for college admissions. It is used as a measurement of aptitude and critical thinking. Subjects tested on the ACT include English, Math, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing section. Students generally take the ACT during their junior or senior years of high school.

Advanced High School Courses: Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) classes are taken in International High Schools in Taipei. They are for students who will attend University in the United States. The student will take one year of the class in school to prepare for a single examination at the end of the year. Students can earn up to 4 hours towards University credit with a successful examination grade.

High School Equivalency Test: GED
The General Education Diploma (GED) is recognized in the same esteem as a high school diploma in the US. The exam is divided into four separate tests. You must get a passing grade on each test in order to be awarded your GED certificate.

The four tests of the GED Examination are:
